Who We Are

In 2012, a handful of families began Christ Community Church after years of growing and serving at Lakeview Christian Center in New Orleans. Since then, God has grown our faith family and answered prayer after prayer as we seek to be a vehicle for God’s grace to touch lives on the Northshore. Our vision can easily been understood from our name.

Christ

We desire for Christ to be preeminent in all things (Colossians 1:18) in every aspect of our lives. We strive for Christ to occupy first place in our hearts, our homes, our neighborhoods, our workplaces, and our church. Christ’s preeminence is the exaltation of his redeeming work accomplished through his life, death, and resurrection. We want to behold the glory of God in the face of Jesus (2 Corinthians 4:6) and experience his love that compels us to obedience. We desire to see his worth and greatness so it will be displayed through us.

Community

We are convinced that God calls us out of spiritual darkness and into his light as a community of disciples. We are joined together to fellowship, grow, and serve one another as we journey to become more like Jesus everyday. We pray and seek to be a family of God that loves one another toward the glory of Christ. Our community endeavors to be established in the faith, engaging with God as we seek to equip and encourage one another to make disciples. We also desire the present gifting and fruits supplied by the Holy Spirit for the building up of Christ’s body.

Church

God’s mission is to cover the earth with the knowledge of the glory of Jesus. We, as his disciples, participate in his mission by being transformed by his glory to bring it to a lost and hurting world. We desire for the Lord to shine through us with Christ’s light and use us to reach those near and far with the Gospel.
